Privacy Policy
QuickieFix Limited (New Zealand) · Last updated 14 July 2026
QuickieFix ("we", "us") is an on-demand marketplace that connects people who need property repairs with verified tradespeople. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and how we handle it. We comply with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.
1. What we collect
| Information | When | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Name, email, phone number | Account sign-up (customer, tradie, business or agency) | Your account, job coordination, receipts and service emails |
| Job address & location | When you request a job or save an address/property | Matching you with nearby tradies; distance and arrival estimates |
| Tradie live location | Only while a tradie is available for work or travelling to / working on a job | Dispatching the nearest tradie; live tracking and on-site detection |
| Photos | When you attach them to a job request | Helping the tradie understand the issue before arriving |
| Messages | In-app job chat | Job coordination. Contact details in messages are masked; threads are deleted when the job ends |
| Business details (business name, NZBN, rates) | Tradie / company / agency onboarding | Verification, upfront pricing, invoicing |
| Ratings & reviews | After a completed job | Public tradie reputation on the platform |
| Device push token | When you enable notifications | Job offers, status updates and messages |
We do not collect payment card details in the app. We do not sell personal information. We do not use your data for third-party advertising.
2. Who sees what
- Customers see a tradie's public profile: business name, trade(s), rating, distance and rates.
- Tradies see the job description, photos and the suburb before accepting; the full street address only after a job is theirs.
- Trade companies see their own team's jobs, timesheets and reviews.
- Property agencies see jobs at their managed properties and their linked tenants.
- Landlords (payer of record) receive a record of jobs at their properties.
3. Service providers we use
- Google Firebase (Google LLC, USA) — authentication, database, file storage, hosting.
- Google Maps Platform — address autocomplete and maps.
- Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, EU) — transactional email (receipts, invites, job records).
- Expo (650 Industries, USA) — push notification delivery.
These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments. Data may be stored outside New Zealand (primarily in the United States and Australia).
4. Retention
- Job records (description, address, timestamps, fees, ratings) are kept while your account exists — they are your service history and our billing record.
- Chat threads are deleted automatically when a job completes or is cancelled.
- Tradie live location is used in real time and only the most recent position is stored.
5. Your rights & deleting your account
Under the Privacy Act 2020 you may request access to, or correction of, your personal information at any time — email privacy@quickiefix.app.
You can delete your account and personal data in the app: Account → Delete my account, or by request at quickiefix.app/delete-account. Deleting your account removes your profile and sign-in immediately; completed-job records are retained in de-identified form only where required for tax and billing law.
6. Security
Data is encrypted in transit, access is enforced by per-user database security rules, and administrative access is limited to the QuickieFix operator. No system is perfectly secure — if a breach ever creates a risk of serious harm we will notify you and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner as required by law.
